New MPH in Indigenous Health Program at UofT

The University of Toronto has introduced their new Master of Public Health in Indigenous Health (MPH-IH) program and is now accepting applications!

This professional, non-thesis graduate program is grounded in Indigenous pedagogies. It equips both Indigenous and non-Indigenous students with the necessary skills and knowledge to support holistic health and well-being for First Nations, Inuit, and Métis communities, as well as the broader field of public health.

The program can be completed in 4–5 terms of study and will allow students to engage in a unique learning journey rooted in Indigenous ways of knowing and guided by Elders, faculty, and peers on the land. Students will put knowledge into action in the program’s 16-week practicum experience that integrates classroom and land-based learning with professional practice. Graduates of the MPH-IH emerge with the confidence to pursue impactful careers in public health, community health, government, policy, research, and academia.

Applications are now open and will close Friday, January 9, 2026.
