Teaching in Higher Ed with Roberta Hawkins: How do we transform the university?

The LWWRC’s Reimagining Care cluster co-lead, Roberta Hawkins, was recently a guest on the Teaching in Higher Ed podcast where she answered the questions: How do we survive in academia? How do we make it better for others? And how do we transform the university?

This podcast, hosted by Bonnie Stachowiak, explores topics such as excellence in teaching, open education, diversity and inclusion, and blended learning.

For episode 595 of the podcast, Roberta and co-author Leslie Kern discussed their book, Higher Expectations: How to Survive Academia, Make it Better for Others, and Transform the University. Based on real-world, international examples, Higher Expectations is a guide to challenging the discriminatory, hierarchical, and individualistic systems at the roots of academia.
