At the Live Work Well Research Centre, we acknowledge that social media can unfortunately be used to further divide people and to spread misinformation. However, it is also a crucial way to share resources, especially for those who rely on it as an accessible tool for communication. Some social media platforms (including Facebook and X) can offer people with disabilities a sense of community and accommodations that cannot easily be replicated elsewhere.

We are committed to using our social media platforms responsibly to raise awareness and create a space for marginalized and under-represented voices. While we are mindful of these challenges, for now we will continue to use social media as a tool for sharing resources, providing access, and creating community. We are open to further discussions as these platforms evolve.
