Treaties Recognition Week, November 3-9

November 3 marks the beginning of Treaties Recognition Week, lasting until November 9. Across Canada, this week recognizes the importance of treaties and the necessity of education on treaty rights, relationships, and their continued relevance.

At the University of Guelph, the Indigenous Student Centre will be hosting a series of events open to the campus community. With these activities, participants will have the opportunity to reflect on their connections to treaty lands across Canada.

Throughout the week, the U of G campus community can join in these events:

  • Moccasin Identifier Project Awareness on Monday, November 4

  • Wander & Wonder: Mtigwaaki Trail on Tuesday, November 5

  • The American Indian Movement with Visiting Elders Dan & Mary Lou Smoke on Thursday, November 7

  • Trick or Treaty? Film Screening on Friday, November 8
