Call for Participants! CERC Health Equity and Wellbeing

The Live Work Well Research Centre would like to draw your attention to the following call for participants from Toronto Metropolitan University.

The Canada Excellence Research Chair (CERC) in Health Equity & Community Wellbeing at Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU), in partnership with UiT Arctic University of Norway, is undertaking a research study of diverse disability identities. The study is entitled: Diverse Disability Identities: Gender and Sexuality, Racial and Ethnic Diversity, Indigeneity. We hope to gain an in-depth understanding of how people with disabilities who also identify across a range of other social and cultural categories (2SLGBTQ+, ethnicity, race, Indigeneity) in other areas of their lives, understand their disabilities.

A flyer calling for participants for the event, those with disabilities who also identify with a diverse gender, sexual, racial, and/or ethnic identity or who are Indigenous. genre et sexualité, diversité, raciale et ethnique, Indigénéité.

We are interested in talking to people who identify as: (1) having some form of disability (2) belonging to a racial, ethnic, sexual and/or gender minority (i.e., 2SLGBTQ+) and/or identify as Indigenous (3) being between 18 and 70 years of age, and (4) living in Canada at the time of the research. We are seeking up to 20 participants in this study.

Interviews will last roughly 45 to 90 minutes in length and will take place either in person in Toronto, over the phone, or virtually over Zoom, depending on your location and preference. The interview will be recorded with your consent for the purpose of generating a transcript. You will have the opportunity to verify this transcript, if you choose. As an acknowledgement of the time and effort to participate in this research, participants will be provided with a $50 gift card.

If you require any accommodations to fully participate in this research, including but not limited to ASL interpretation or remote live captioning, please let us know in advance and these will be made available.
