Young Women with Disabilities and Pre-employment Supports

Young woman, wheelchair user, on smartphone with text: Young women with disabilities and pre-employment supports in Montreal

Building on an existing pre-employment program offered by our partner organizations, this pilot examines the relationship between paid employment and other kinds of livelihood for young women with disabilities. The project includes a policy review of existing pre-employment programs, key informant interviews and focus groups.

Key questions: What are the relationships between paid employment and other forms of livelihood? To what extent do other forms of livelihood support and/or strengthen the search for paid employment? How do different livelihoods help us survive and thrive?
