Description of Project:
The Inclusive Early Childhood Service System (IECSS) project was designed as a longitudinal study aimed at understanding the experiences of families with young children with disabilities as they navigate various health, care, service and educational systems. It employs Institutional Ethnography to uncover the various rules, processes, and practices that impact on these families and their children and is oriented to ensuring that theory, policy and practice are designed for them from the outset. The project was developed through a partnership with community, academic and policy organizations spanning five geographic areas and including First Nations communities.
