You may be eligible for an honorarium of $100 for a blog of 500-900 words on a topic that fits the Centre’s Work, Vision, and Values. The blog contribution is approved by the Director and edited as needed by the Centre. Please send your proposal to liveworkwell@uoguelph.ca and let us know what you would like to write about!  

Registration is now open! LISPOP’s 2023 Forum on Public Opinion and Housing Policy

On October 20th, 2023, LISPOP (Laurier Institute for the Study of Public Opinion and Policy) will be holding their annual Forum on Public Opinion and Housing Policy. It will take place from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm at Wilfrid Laurier’s Waterloo Campus, and is a completely free event! This is an opportunity to hear the opinions of policymakers, academics, and community members on meaningful policy action toward housing.

Call for Papers: Conversations with/across the Global South: Towards Decolonial Disability Futurities

The Review of Disability Studies (RDS) is currently looking for papers of approximately 6000 words in length for a themed Special Issue: Conversations with/across the Global South: Towards Decolonial Disability Futurities, with guest editors Drs. Xuan Thuy Nguyen, Carleton University;, Katie Aubrecht, St. Francis Xavier University;, and Shilpaa Anand, Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani. The deadline for submission has been extended to August 31st, 2023. 

Reimagining Livelihoods Forum: Registration Now Open!

Registration is now open for the hybrid Reimagining Livelihoods Forum, August 23-24, 2023. Attending this event will provide you with an opportunity to share, discuss, and engage with diverse perspectives, experiences, and knowledges about livelihoods. Livelihoods describe the means to secure the necessities of life. We are living in a time of change and uncertainty, which presents an opportunity to reimagine what “livelihoods” are made of, and collaboratively identify the supports, structures, and systems we need to live and work well. 

Reimagining Livelihoods Forum: Call for Proposals

You are invited to submit a proposal for the “Reimagining Livelihoods” Forum, hosted by the Live Work Well Research Centre (LWWRC), University of Guelph. This three-day hybrid forum welcomes proposals from both individuals and organizations and will be held between August 22nd and 24th, with in-person components taking place at 10 Carden Shared Space in Guelph, Ontario, Canada. The deadline for proposal submissions was previously May 31st, 2023, and has now been extended until June 12th, 2023.

Live Work Well Research Centre Strategic Plan Renewal Process (2023-27)

The Live Work Well Research Centre is embarking on renewing our strategic plan for the next five years. We are inviting our partners and collaborators to join us in discussions over TWO sessions in March (March 8th, and March 21st), to reflect, discuss, recommit, and reimagine the Centre’s vision, work, values, and goals for 2023-27.
